• MSNO Fall Meeting, October 23rd, 2007 - GrafTech International - Parma, Ohio
  MSNO kicked off its 2007 Fall season with a meeting at GrafTech International (formerly Union Carbide) on Snow Rd. in Parma, OH.  Refreshments were provided courtesy of corporate sponsor William Powell of JEOL, Inc.  A brief tour of the facility preceded the presentation by GrafTech’s Director of Corporate R&D, Lionel Batty.  His talk was entitled “Managing Heat with Graphite and Nanotechnology” and he showed how the different properties of graphite can be utilized in everything from small electronics to advanced technologies.  After dinner, William Landis of NEOUCOMP discussed recent advancements in the area of tissue engineering of human phalanges with the idea that eventually a method for replacement of this digit will be available using the patient’s own tissues.
